This painting is after how she appeared in 1925 and part of the 1929 Most Holy Trinity vision of Sr. Lucia (one of the 3 visionaries of Fatima).
Lucia described seeing our Lady in the following way:

” . . . Beneath the right arm on the Cross was Our Lady. It was Our Lady of Fatima, with her Immaculate Heart in her left hand, without thorns or roses, but with a crown of thorns and flames . . ..”

There have been many special moments of God’s grace and mercy in my life. And I’ve felt Our Lady’s presence, her intervention and call in my heart. God only knows where I would be now and what kind of a person I would have become if She hadn’t intervened!

Therefore, in painting this image I want to say “thank you Dearest Mother, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary!!!” Also, I had hoped to bring to mind and ponder anew Her Maternal Intervention in my life. I wish to stoke the very real call of our Blessed Mother to a fever pitch in my heart.

And finally, I hope to witness to the co-redemptive action of Our Blessed Mother, and present an opportunity among opportunities for moments of grace in lives of others.
